BVSC + Primary Internal Medicine Nurse

Emily grew up in Northern Victoria on a farm near a small country town and always had a large variety of animals which was where her interest in a career with animals came from. She started working as an animal attendant in both dogs and cats at large animal shelter on the south side of Melbourne (the Australian Animal Protection Society). She worked her way up to a senior animal attendant position and then began working as a veterinary nurse 2-3 days a week.

In 2009, Emily and her partner made the move to Brisbane, where she began working as a junior veterinary nurse at Manly Road Veterinary Hospital. Her initial duties included reception/customer service and kennel hand. She then worked her way up to doing medical nursing, surgical nursing and overnight/emergency nursing.

Emily is BVSC's Primary Internal Medicine nurse. Her main interests in Veterinary Nursing include Feline medicine and Emergency nursing. She has had many fur children including dogs and has several cats ranging from two and a half years old to her oldest, Switch (pictured here). One of the cats was raised from a day old! In her spare time, she likes bush walking, reading, doing cross stitches and spending time with her partner and animals.
