Layla

BVSC + Nurse Manager

Layla grew up in a town called Bingley in Yorkshire England. She started Vet nursing in 2000 at a small general practice working with small animals and exotics.

From there she moved to Manchester to work at a multi-discipline referral and a 1st opinion practice in Cheshire. There she worked between the Referral hospital and the branch practices. It was here that she obtained her veterinary nurse training and became an RVN.

Layla then moved to Australia and started working as a casual at BVSC. She was sponsored on a business visa and taken on as full-time nurse and became an Australian resident in June 2014. Layla was the Primary Medicine nurse at BVSC for three and a half years and then took on the role of Nursing Supervisor and is now one of BVSC’s Nurse Managers.

Layla took time out to have 2 cheeky, mischievous boys, and she now works part time as BVSC's Nurse Manager - Training and Development. 

Continuing education is important to Layla, and she has completed a Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing through Myerscough College in the UK, the diploma pertains to diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia and internal medicine.  More recently Layla has completed her Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
