Dr Hansen received her DVM from UC Davis in 2008 and then completed a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. After her internship, she spent two years as a post-doctoral associate in the radiation oncology labs at Duke University, North Carolina. Katherine trained as a resident in radiation oncology from 2011-2013 at UC Davis in California becoming a faculty member upon completion of her residency. She held a professorial position at Davis for nearly a decade and has published numerous scientific papers on advanced radiotherapy, with a specific focus on stereotactic radiation outcomes.
Dr Hansen leads the onsite Radiation Therapy team at BVSC which includes our lead radiation veterinarian, Dr Kate Bruce and our three radiation therapists, Julia, Nathan and Clement. She enjoys helping pet owners find the right treatment options that fit with their goals and improve quality of life for their beloved companions.
